Over a hundred years ago, the Mee family had a vision. They saw an opportunity to expand their bottling business and enter the retail market, providing bourbon and Ales to thirsty New Yorkers. They built a four-story building, with retail on the first floor, a home for their family on the second, and space for immigrants on the third and fourth. It was a bustling hub of activity until prohibition forced its closure. The building changed hands, becoming Uncle's Café, a bar run by a local Irish politician. Sadly, the upper floors fell into disrepair, and the rooms meant for new immigrants became a brothel. Even though the building underwent many changes, it's important to remember the family who had a dream and worked hard to make it a reality. Their legacy lives on today as Uncle's Café, where people can come together to share a drink and a story.
